EVERY KID A CONTENDER

The Azzim Dukes Initiative, founded by Maleek Jackson, is improving the health, well-being, and safety of Philadelphia’s young people through boxing, one-on-one mentoring, and meals.

We’re not replacing gun violence with boxing gloves but rather empowering kids to fight for their futures by making choices that honor and expand their potential. In the ring, we focus on strategic thinking, confidence, and decision-making, building skills that improve lives.

Our programs are free for families and led by inspiring coaches from the same communities.

We get results.

After 3 weeks at our 2025 Summer Camp, 100% of families said that their kids:

Had more energy and/or were in better moods

Learned new ways to manage stress and emotions

Made new friends

Slept better

Found new role models

These improvements put youth on paths to healthier, happier, and longer lives.

Born in the heart of South Philadelphia, Maleek Jackson knows the odds stacked against Black and Brown children trying to grow up in the nation’s poorest large city.

The Azzim Dukes Initiative is named for his youngest brother, whose life ended at 17 due to gun violence.
